General Description
Applications are invited from practising and committed Catholic Teachers for the post of Head of Religious Education at St Thomas More Catholic School.
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and committed leader of the Religious Education Department. The department is extremely successful with over 70% of all year 11 students achieving grade 5+ in 2019 and over 30% achieving grade 7+. At Advanced level the department always recruits a healthy cohort and the average grade awarded for RE in 2019 was a B. As well as being an extremely successful academic department they support all aspects of the Catholic ethos of the school. The department consists of a second in department and a dedicated team of classroom practitioners, some who hold additional responsibilities across school and within the pastoral division. You will have excellent leadership skills and will be a strong classroom practitioner with a depth of experience of teaching Key stage 3 through to the sixth form.

General Description
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and committed leader of the Learning Support Department and designated SENDCo. The department consists of one other learning support teacher and a dedicated team of Learning Support Assistants. You will also be a strong classroom practitioner with a depth of experience of teaching SEND students and a confident awareness of the SEN Code of Practice . You will have high expectations and will have the ability to offer high quality teaching and support to our students in a variety of settings and disseminate those skills across departments. An essential part of the role will be to motivate and stimulate students with a range of learning difficulties, enabling them to reach their full potential.
