Blessed Carlo Acutis: The millennial saint\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlo Acutis, a London-born teenager, is on the path to becoming the first saint of the millennial generation. Born in 1991 and growing up in Milan, Italy, Acutis passed away in 2006 at the age of 15 due to leukemia. His life, though short, was marked by a profound faith and a passion for technology, which he used to spread the teachings of the Catholic Church. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlo had great devotion to the Eucharist and he created a website documenting Eucharistic miracles. He was passionate about caring for others, particularly the vulnerable, and in school he stood up for people who were bullied. He famously encouraged all his friends to embrace their uniqueness, urging them to be \u2018originals not photocopies.\u2019 His dedication to faith and skill with technology earned him recognition within the Catholic community and beyond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pope Francis has formally recognised two miracles attributed to Carlo, paving the way for his canonisation as a saint. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlo\u2019s beatification took place in Assisi in 2020, and his body, which lies in a tomb there, can be visited by the public. He has already been declared \u201cvenerable\u201d for his virtuous life, and, with the recognition of the second miracle, he is now set to be named the first millennial saint, a testament to his enduring impact and the inspiration he continues to provide to young people. This is why he is chosen as the patron of our Trust. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The St Nicholas Fund<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Commercial Partners with Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust have kindly made a small financial fund available, which can be allocated throughout the year to pupils in urgent need of support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The St Nicholas Fund is available to promote the engagement and success of pupils and students in school activities when their personal circumstances may prevent them from being able to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications may be made for single payments for specific activities or resources for individual pupils, up to \u00a3200. If you would like to make a funding request for a pupil, please contact the Headteacher of their school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Access to school during exceptional circumstances, for example, taxi service after significant injury  <\/li>\n\n\n\n
